Buku specialties

We are really proud of what Buku Haematology achieved, and really enjoyed hearing about how it helped clinicians. With your feedback, we saw the potential for benefit in other specialty areas, and have subsequently changed our name to Buku Medicine to reflect our expanding remit.

We hope our new additions will help to improve patient care further, and ease the workload for clinicians.

All specialties work under a governance framework. There are 2-3 authors at registrar level and a consultant to review and check content. See below for information about some of our team members (more information about all of our contributors coming soon).


 

Renal

Sarah Gleeson

Sarah is a renal clinical research fellow in Imperial College Healthcare NHS trust. She has trained in Ireland, New Zealand and the UK. Her interests include glomerulonephritis, Pregnancy and kidney disease, home therapies and social media in medicine. Find her on twitter @Sarah_Gleeson_

Alastair Rankin

Alastair is a renal registrar in the West of Scotland.He is an aspiring clinical academic with research interests related to cardiovascular disease, functional imaging and renal replacement therapies. Find him on twitter @AlastairRankin1

Jamie Willows

Jamie is a renal registrar in the North East of England.  He writes for and coordinates the @BukuRenal team.  His interests include electrolyte abnormalities, glomerulonephritis, point of care ultrasound and medical education.  Find him on twitter @jamiekwillows

Kerri Devine

Haematology

Keir pickard

Keir is a haematology registrar in the North East with a keen interest in medical education. He has Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Newcastle University. He is passionate about delivering free access to online haematology resources and education to support and empower clinical colleagues.

Tom Bull

Tom Bull is a haematology consultant working in the East of England as a generalist treating malignant and non-malignant conditions. He illustrated the pictorial content for the Buku Plus haematological conditions.

He is the creator of Haembase, a free open access medical education (FOAMed) resource aimed at haematologists in training. He is a trustee of the HaemSTAR network.
