OUR AIM
To provide answers and education about the commonest questions posed to medical specialty doctors in order to free up time for clinicians, improve workload and improve patient care
The App was conceived by a UK haematology registrar and consultant in 2017 as Buku Haematology to try to reduce the burden on referrers and specialists by providing concise and clinically relevant information at users fingertips. It has now been downloaded over 39,000 times internationally and has the support of the North-East region haematology consultant body. It is installed on clinician smartphone devices in two trusts in the North-East and has ORCHA approval.
The App has now expanded to include renal, rheumatology, hepatology, immunology. endocrine and palliative care and become Buku Medicine.
Buku Medicine is created and curated by volunteer clinicians giving up their time to help create a great resource for clinicians and to improve patient care.
